Worried about the increasing attacks in Occupied Kashmir, Assam and Punjab, the Indian Army has decided to buy thousands of bulletproof jackets.
According to a report by Kashmir Media Service, India is facing the threat of using steel corgolies in Occupied Kashmir, Punjab, Assam and Manipur.
According to the report, the Indian Army has issued a tender to buy 62,500 bulletproof jackets to deal with this situation and protect its soldiers.
Through these tenders, Level 4 jackets, deemed effective against steel corrugations, will be procured, which will first be provided to troops deployed in Occupied Kashmir.
Indian military officials told reporters that the Indian Ministry of Defense has issued two separate tenders for these jackets under ‘Make in India’.
The first tender has been issued for 47 thousand 627 jackets under normal procedure while the second tender has been issued for 15 thousand jackets under emergency procurement which will be finalized in the next three to four months.
He said that the procurement of 47,647 jackets will be done in phases and it is expected to be completed in the next 18 to 24 months.
