Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that we are helping the flood victims with our resources.
According to the details, a delegation led by Asian Development Bank Country Director Yong Yi met with Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and former Federal Minister Munis Elahi.
In the meeting, progress was discussed on various ongoing projects in Punjab with the support of Asian Development Bank and discussions were also held regarding starting the Blue Line Underground project in Lahore, while the Blue Line Underground project between the Punjab government and the Asian Development Bank was discussed. An in-principle agreement was also reached regarding the project.
In the meeting, the Country Director of Asian Development Bank assured support for the Blue Line Underground Project, while the Sutlej Corridor Project from Kasur to Bahawalnagar was also discussed.
On this occasion, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that he wants the support of Asian Development Bank to start the Blue Line Underground Project, while Asian Development Bank is an important partner of the Punjab government.
He said that in my previous tenure, I planned to run an underground train with the support of Asian Development Bank, but the Muslim League (N) government dismissed my plan as political bias.
He said that the beauty of Lahore city was destroyed by starting metrobus service while the former provincial government of Muslim League (N) made transport plans based on personal interests.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that Lahore needed an underground transport system earlier and now it needs more, while we would be happy if the Asian Development Bank provides technical assistance for the Blue Line Underground Train Project.
He said that our government has decided to start the Blue Line project to provide modern and world class travel facilities to the people and this project will be a milestone for Lahore.
He said that he would welcome the cooperation of the Asian Development Bank in completing the Thal Canal project, while the Punjab government would also take all possible measures for the early completion of the project.
Punjab Chief Minister said that Punjab Government appreciates the support of Asian Development Bank for rehabilitation and resettlement of flood victims.
He said that our government has given a package of 12 billion rupees for the rehabilitation and resettlement of the flood victims, while the federal government has not given even a penny to the flood victims of Punjab, we are helping the flood victims with our own resources. .
He further said that he would welcome the support of the Asian Development Bank in the construction of the corridor from Kasur to Bahawalnagar.
On this occasion, the Country Director of the Asian Development Bank said that the priorities of the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi are correct, we want to further promote our cooperation with the Punjab government while we are working with the Punjab government in various fields. Cooperation will increase further.
The delegation included Asian Development Bank Deputy Country Director Asad Aleem, Unit Head Project Administration Danish R Shiva Koti, Senior Project Officer Water Resources Asad Ali Zafar, Senior Project Officers Syed Umar Ali Shah and Salman Moeed Mian.
Chief Secretary Abdullah Khan Sanbal, former Federal Secretary and Chairman Planning and Development Salman Ghani, Senior Member Board of Revenue Zahid Akhtar Zaman, former Secretary to Chief Minister GM Sikandar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Secretaries Finance, Planning were present in the meeting on this occasion.
