LAHORE: The joint investigation team (JIT) established by the Punjab government has started working in the Wazirabad Long March firing incident.
According to the sources, the first meeting of the JIT was held to investigate the incident of firing on Long March in Wazirabad. Which was headed by CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.
Preliminary issues for the investigation of the Wazirabad accident were reviewed in the first meeting, while the joint investigation team will also visit the accident site in the next two days.
According to sources, the JIT will also observe the evidence collected from the accident site while the JIT will also conduct interviews with the concerned police officers and other personalities.
Earlier, the federal government rejected the JIT formed by the Punjab government on behalf of the federal government. The federal government said that a representative of a secret agency should be included in the JIT for a transparent investigation.
It should be noted that at the beginning of this month, there was firing in the long march of PTI in Wazirabad area of Punjab, in which other people including former Prime Minister Imran Khan were injured and one worker was killed.
