In the wake of the nuclear attack on Ukraine, the US and China have agreed that nuclear weapons should never be used anywhere.
According to a foreign news agency, there was a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday, which lasted for three hours.
In the meeting, it was agreed that nuclear weapons should never be used anywhere, including in Ukraine.
Later, a statement was issued by the White House in which it is said that the two presidents have clarified their position against the threat of using nuclear weapons in war.
According to the White House, the American president told the Chinese president that the United States will continue to compete with China vigorously, but this competition will never turn into a conflict.
The White House said in its statement that the US President has raised objections to China’s increasingly aggressive actions against Taiwan.
On the other hand, in the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, it is said that the Chinese President has expressed serious concern about the situation in Ukraine to the American counterpart.
According to the ongoing statement, the Chinese President has said that the Chinese authorities look forward to and support the resumption of dialogue between Russia and Ukraine.
It should be noted that it was expected that the Ukraine war would be the topic of discussion at the first public meeting between the two presidents on the sidelines of the G20 summit.
Earlier in the meeting, the two presidents shook hands, while President Joe Biden said the superpowers have a responsibility to show the world that they can manage their differences and prevent competition from turning into conflict.
