According to the news agency, Twitter has closed 52 thousand 141 accounts in India between August 26 and September 25 for promoting sexual exploitation of children, nudity and other obscene content, while 1 thousand 982 accounts have been closed for promoting terrorism. has been closed.

In its monthly report on compliance with India’s new IT Act 2021, Twitter said it received 157 complaints through its grievance redressal system and acted on 129 cases.

The report said that apart from this, 43 complaints were processed in which an appeal was made against the suspension of the accounts, but the suspension of none of these accounts has been withdrawn and all of them are still suspended.

It may be recalled that last month Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal had said that the responses received from Twitter on child pornography complaints were incomplete and the Commission was not satisfied with them.
