Turkey blamed the Istanbul blast on the Kurdistan Workers Party

A bomb exploded in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Sunday, as a result of which 6 people were killed and 81 injured.

A statement from Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has come out in which he says that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the explosion in Istanbul.

He said that according to our investigation, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) is involved in the Istanbul bombing.

According to the official news agency, after several hours, the Turkish Interior Minister has announced the arrest of the suspected attacker.

It should be noted that since the 1980s, the PKK has been carrying out violent actions for Kurdish autonomy in southeastern Turkey, while Turkey and its Western allies have designated the group as a terrorist group.

It should be noted that the explosion took place on the busy Istiqlal Street of Istanbul, Turkey, at 4:20 PM on Sunday, while panic and dead bodies were seen everywhere after the explosion.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has described the blast as a heinous attack, saying that our nation must ensure that the perpetrators of the incident on Istiqlal Street receive the punishment they deserve.

It may be recalled that Sunday’s blast was the deadliest since December 2016 for which no group has yet claimed responsibility.

Al-Qaeda, ISIS and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party have claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks in Turkey.
