The Election Commission reserved its decision regarding the holding of local body elections in Sindh. The Chief Election Commission said that the Election Commission would like the environment to be favorable for the elections. Why not meet the security shortfall from Punjab?

A hearing was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner on the issue of local body elections in Sindh. Administrator Murtaza Wahab said during the hearing that due to the rains, a request was made to postpone the municipal elections of Karachi.

He said that we are ready for the election but want complete security. Due to floods, the situation is very difficult and the government alone cannot deal with the situation.

He said that the Election Commission would like a favorable environment for the elections. Postponing the election is the job of the Election Commission, the provincial government cannot postpone it.

After the hearing, the Election Commission reserved the decision to hold elections in Karachi and Hyderabad in the second phase of Sindh local elections.
