Sehun Sharif: The pilgrims’ van has met with a terrible accident as a result of which 20 people have died and 14 have been injured, women and children are also among the dead.
As soon as the accident was reported, a large number of volunteers from the local police, local administration and aid organizations immediately reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to the hospital for post-mortem.
The volunteers of the aid agencies who arrived at the accident site shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the officials of the local police and other relevant agencies started collecting evidence.
Regarding the accident that happened to the pilgrims’ van, Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Fariduddin Mustafa says that there were about 34 people in the van, including women and children.
According to the local police, the accident happened to the pilgrims’ van when it ran into a cut on the Indus Highway for flood water.
According to eyewitnesses, the Indus Highway was blocked about two months ago to drain the water of Manchhar Lake in the Indus River. which has not yet been closed and is the cause of the accident.
Director Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical Sciences Sehun Sharif told Hum News that the dead bodies have been transferred to the hospital. To a question, he said that the accident happened around 9:30.
Former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has expressed regret over the traffic accident that occurred near Sehun Sharif and said that he is very saddened by the loss of precious human lives. He directed that the Sindh government should provide all possible help to the families of the deceased.
Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also expressed regret over the traffic accident and said that the loss of precious lives in the tragic accident is a shock. I share the grief of the families who lost their loved ones in the accident.
Bilawal Bhutto directed the concerned authorities to take concrete measures to prevent accidents on the Indus Highway and ensure the best treatment for the injured.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has also expressed regret over the traffic accident and prayed that Allah Almighty grant the deceased a place in His mercy and speedy recovery of the injured, Ameen.
Provincial Information and Broadcasting Minister Sharjeel Memon expressed his sympathy to the families of the deceased and said that the Sindh Chief Minister has taken notice of the incident. He said that the relevant teams have been dispatched.
