Google Pixel phones have always focused on excellent camera specs and the upcoming Pixel 8 series leaks reveal new features with manual camera controls, and AI integration.
The leaked video posted by reliable leaker Kamila Wojciechowska at 91Mobiles provides exclusive details such as the new camera features coming to the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, along with night sight, astrophotography, and super-res zoom.
Another notable feature included in the camera specs is “Video Boost” which will use AI to create a “smooth scene” as well as bring night-sight effects to the video. “Audio Eraser” removes any unwanted sounds in videos like city noise with a list of new features.
The wildest and most interesting feature of the upcoming series is the use of AI in the videos to change the faces of people in different shots to create an idealized version.
This time Google is also giving full manual controls on the Pixel 8 called “Pro Controls” which are “modeled after DSLR controls”. Magic Editor has already been teased at Google’s I/O event that can remove objects from photos and change backgrounds with a single tap.
The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to add autofocus to the selfie camera, which is a 10.5MP sensor. Both devices will have 50MP primary sensors on both devices at f/1.68, 1/1.31-inch sensor, and 1.2 μm pixel width. The Pixel 8 will get a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, while the Pixel 8 Pro will get a 48MP ultrawide at 5x and a second 48MP telephoto camera. The phones are slated to release on October 4.
