Due to low collection of super tax, the national exchequer has lost more than 6 billion 69 crore rupees.
According to the Auditor General of Pakistan’s document, 69 cases of super tax were under-assessed in three field offices.
The document states that FBR did not collect super tax on income in tax year 2020.
In response, FBR said that more than Rs 69 crore 91 lakh are awaiting recovery while legal proceedings are underway for recovery of more than Rs 5 billion 88 crore.
The Auditor General of Pakistan has directed the FBR to finalize legal proceedings for recovery of the amount.
The document stated that a report was sought from the FBR on January 15, 2022, which was not submitted.
