The 41st session of the Universal Periodic Review was held at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. On this occasion, a protest camp was organized by various human rights organizations and civil society to highlight the ongoing human rights violations in India.

Human rights organizations and civil society members camped out in Broken Chair Square in front of the Geneva Human Rights Council to protest.

Posters were also displayed at the protest camp on which various issues were highlighted. These posters highlighted the violation of human rights in India, atrocities under the Armed Forces Special Power Act in North East India and the plight of minorities, especially Dalits in India.

The protest appealed to the United Nations to play its role in stopping the ongoing human rights violations in India.

It should be noted that a report of the United Nations has revealed that human rights are being violated in India and Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and Dalits are victims of atrocities and the honor of women is not protected.

Under the Universal Periodic Review of the United Nations, the Human Rights Council of the United Nations prepares every four years the situation of human rights in its member states.
