American condolence over Istanbul blast rejected

Turkey has rejected the US condolence over the Istanbul blast.

Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu says, “We do not accept and reject the ongoing condolence by the US Embassy.”

The Turkish official also refused to comment on reports of alleged talks between Russia and the US in Turkey.

However, the official said that Turkey is working together with some countries against terrorism.

It should be noted that 6 people were killed and 81 injured in the bomb blasts in Istanbul on Sunday.

A suspect has also been arrested in connection with the blast, which Turkey has blamed on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

The PKK has been waging violent campaigns for Kurdish autonomy in southeastern Turkey since the 1980s, while Turkey and its Western allies have designated the group as a terrorist group.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan often accuses Washington of supplying weapons to Kurdish fighters in northern Syria.

On the other hand, Sunday’s blast was the deadliest since December 2016 for which no group has yet claimed responsibility.

Al-Qaeda, ISIS and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party have claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks in Turkey.
